The Jewel of Heaven, Yononaka is the fourth Captain Commander. Once a young ditzy girl whose immense spiritual power and combat potential earned her an adoption from a royal family, she achieved enlightenment two hundred years ago and became the most powerful spiritual in the known world. With a Zanpakuto that controls and manipulates the rivers of time and the ability to understand not only her current self but every past self as well, she has become an enigma not unlike the first Shinigami--a being no longer forced to hearken to the cycle of death and rebirth. Because of this Yononaka earned the title the Jewel of Heaven, symbolizing the rarity and value of her soul, and was given the position of Captain Commander without having to serve as another division's captain first.
